Introduction
An opportunity exists within the Technical Services department of an aseptic pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Port Elizabeth for a Millwright Apprentice. The purpose of the role is to learn how to maintain, repair and optimize plant equipment in order to ensure plant availability and product quality at minimum quality without sacrificing standards and simultaneously become a qualified Artisan with a Millwright trade.

•Learn to maintain, repair and optimize plant and associated equipment and complete associated Logbooks
oLocate plant, equipment, spares and relevant documentation / systems
oPlan, budget and prepare the job
oPerform maintenance
oOptimize plant, process equipment and systems



•Learn to ensure a safe, healthy and risk free working environment and complete associated Logbook
oApply OHS procedures
oMaintain workplace safety, housekeeping and risk free standards

•Learn to work in teams

oStandby and shift work responsibilities where applicable to learn

•Successfully complete trade test in agreed time

Requirements
Matric with Maths and Science
Preference will be given to candidates who have successfully completed their N1 and N2 qualification

•General Production Plant and process knowledge
•General understanding and aptitude of all engineering disciplines eg. Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation
•An aptitude for problem solving and Root Cause Analysis
•Attention to detail
•People / inter-personal skills
•Pharmaceutical and GMP experience will be an advantage
•Computer literate and basic skills in the use of Microsoft Office package
